New Things for shydee


Cross ties were quite an adventure! Shydee was only one, and i wanted to groom her - so i put her in cross ties....yeah she didnt live that too much! she ripped both cross ties out of the wall, broke her halter and ran!
Luckily i walked up slowly and calmly and she was fine! just learning!


First time the farrier came - i got shydee up to the slot she had to be in to get her hoofs trimmed but she walked up very calm as soon as the farrier started trimming her hoofs she frreakeddd out!!!!!! she ran backwards going into the shower slot, she tried running all over, kicking where ever she could, all of the people but the farrier had to go stay in the tack room for saftey ... as soon as she saw, its not that bad she was fine lol , theres a first for everything!


The first time shydee got a peppermint she wouldnt stop licking her lips, she was seriously lickering her lips for atleast 20 min- that was a very good first for shydee!


First time shydee got tacked up- She was in her stall, Jessica put the saddle and girth on , shydee didnt mind it, so She put the bit and bridal on- and shydee was a really good girl! she didnt mind it one bit- she was very gentle sweet and didnt mind it!


Shydee's first Shower- shydee was lame so we decided to give her a nice comfy cozy shower! shydee at first was a little nervous but she did great! it had to feel good(:


Shydee's first ride- Was very Awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  Jessica got on and walked her around...over ground poles, thru cones, in circles...an AMAZING first!

My First time on shydee- I got to ride shydee bareback as our first time riding together! it was really fun and she was so gentle ...and listened so well! we just walked around and had fun!

Shydee's mommy and daddy!

Shydee is a pure bred american paint! Shydee got her name from the combo of her parents , Shilo and Dixie- Dixie her mom was a solid brown paint and her dad Shilo was Splotched brown and white...she looks more like her daddy , Anyway when we had shydee trailered from Alabama to ohio the men who brought her where very interestin...i was only 11 so i asked "do you know have Kathy spelled Shydee?" and one of the two guys go " S-H-I-T-T-Y" i couldnt stop laughing....they were serious which made it even funnier, i Immediately txted kathy (my god mother)  and got the correct spelling which is obvious "S-H-Y-D-E-E" 

      When shydee was still in her mommy the vet thought Dixie was going to have twins... but nope just one horse, my horse, shydee girl! She was born one day before easter f 2009- and was a christmas present from my momma! Talk about a kick butt present!! Even tho shydee was and accident , she turned out to be my princess<3

Breaking Shydee!

After waiting 2 years And finding "The Perfect Trainer" It was Time to begin! Jessica (trainer) Started Ground work,  Voice Cues , Lunging , putting the saddle and bridal on, working with walking over ground poles and bridges, teaching her "baaackk" , giving her a shower! Soon it was the "riding day"  Jessica decided it was time! We saddled her up and jessica got on and walked her around, over ground poles, worked on laterial flexeration and shydee was very cool calm and collected!
Ride two- Jessica did the basics and shydee was great!
Ride 3- Jessica was already trotting on her, posting on her too!! Thats when she got off and untacked her and said 'i wanna ride her bare back!" so she did for 5 min and then hoped off and said Jana do you wanna ride her?
Obviously my anwser was YESSSS!!!!! so i got on her and walked around ...it was amazing!!!! each day we both ride her and work with bit pressue , leg pressue , head down and backing up- we still have 14 sessins to go but so far...so good!:)

Shydee Girl

I Got Shydee When She was between 6- and 7 months old! I got her from My god mother...and shydee was a Christmas Present From my Mom- it was a complete surprise! From as soon as i got her i started working with her! we started off halter breaking, then walking on a lead line which took her barely any time at all! soon i had her lunging(:
    sadly at the barn we were at i wasnt able to pick my own trainer for shydee or Bring friends! That was a big part in having her!!!So we found a barn 5 min away from my house and moved her there! Well luckily it was nice and shes still there to this day....Now shydee is 2 years and 7 months old and Is in the training process of breaking...We Found an awesome trainer Jessica=) whos already riding shydee! more about that on the blog "shydees Breaking" Any way shydee has been an awesome addition to my life...and i love her<3
